Summary
The Enterprise Project and Environmental Office (EPEO) at PGE is seeking a dynamic Manager, Construction Project Management to lead a team of PMs that manage programs and projects roughly in size between $500,000 and $100 million within the EPEO’s portfolio, which is roughly an $80M portfolio. This team manages innovative capital infrastructure programs through development, permitting, engineering/design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
In this role you will provide leadership to ensure capital investment plans are executed in a manner consistent with the defined project goals for safety, quality, budget, and schedule. Ensure that consistent project management processes are developed, implemented, and continuously improved across all projects/programs to deliver results for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Management: Leads a team of project management professionals responsible for managing Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution (T&D), and Facilities construction projects and programs; provides technical management for the team, ensuring that objectives are met, and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that problems are identified and resolved; ensures the team follows best practices.
- Capital Investment Plan Implementation: Oversees implementation of capital investment plans affecting PGE’s infrastructure facilities and systems. Establish partnerships with other departments within PGE to foster alignment in achieving strategic goals.
- Program/Project Management Oversight: Ensures that program/project management processes are developed, implemented, maintained, and enhanced effectively and consistently across all programs/projects to deliver results (safety, quality, budget, schedule). Continuously evaluates and improves upon project management processes and provides guidance/mentorship in support of continued employee development; provides project management expertise to internal and external stakeholders.
- Internal/External Representation: Represents PGE and the Project Management Office (PMO) on various internal and external committees and task forces to ensure alignment with corporate goals and initiatives.
- Financial Management: Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.
- Resourcing: Oversees resourcing decisions and planning for team; partners with HR in the definition of jobs, recruitment, evaluation, and selection processes.
- Professional Development: Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in degree in engineering, business or other related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Typically, 8 or more years of project management, construction management, engineering, design, operation or maintenance of electrical facilities or related experience.
- Certifications, Licenses and Training: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required

- Management/supervisory experience.
- Advanced knowledge and skill in the application of project management principles, processes and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts and methods used in T&D engineering, construction and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of construction estimating, project risk management, project scope control and project communication management.
- Advanced knowledge of construction/engineering disciplines and technical understanding of utility infrastructure
- Advanced knowledge of engineering/economic principles and concepts. Advanced knowledge of utility-scale construction projects, including feasibility, estimating and scheduling.
- Advanced knowledge of budget and resource forecasting principles and methods.
- Advanced knowledge of and skill in using Project Management software.
- Advanced knowledge of procurement and contract administration.
- Working knowledge of applicable policies, rules, regulations and codes in the utility engineering field.
- Working knowledge of Maximo, MS Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Basic knowledge of applicable union contracts and labor laws.
- Working skills in using corporate financial reporting software (e.g., PowerPlan).

Compensation Range:
$125,790.00 - $233,610.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
